The Young Owners Forum, organized by Fast Company, brought together leading representatives of the business world in Bodrum on August 29–30.
“Speaking at the panel titled “Doing Good for Sustainability,” Alapala Human Resources Director Gülfem Alapala highlighted the environmental dimensions of sustainability. In her speech, she underlined that with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) coming into effect in 2026, both the private sector and public institutions will face new regulations and investments. She emphasized the importance of keeping this issue on the agenda and creating communication channels so that all stakeholders can contribute to the process.

Gülfem Alapala also shared that, due to the niche nature of the company’s industry and the limited number of educational institutions, they launched the Alapala Academy. The Academy aims to: strengthen technological transformation capabilities, train a qualified workforce, and create a development environment based on knowledge sharing.
